Day 3: Three Weeks to the Suit

While I was out running last night under the big Texas sky, I had some revelations. First, life is good even though sometimes we may think it isn't. And second, a quote I once heard. "Women are Angels…And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly…Usually on a broomstick. We are flexible like that." Both of these thoughts made perfect sense considering my situation. Last night, these thoughts seemed momentous.

So this morning, those thoughts still in mind brought me back to the "suit". Is it that important? Other things have happened in my life lately that make me feel perplexed and insignificant. My career is gone per my choice. I have a whole new life with a different set of responsibilities. Do I need to continue the pursuit of the suit? I decided to take today off from running. It seemed that, after 3 days in a row, I needed a break from exercise. All I actually wanted to do tonight was sit down with a glass of wine and watch TV.

However, we don't always get what we want. When I came home from errands and carpool, I learned the suit had won. What I found when I walked in the front door sent me right back out again ready to pound the pavement (after the clean-up). Ahh, the suit and the dogs!

  1. I love the quote! I have never heard that before and find it so appropriate as I'm ending a school year that has been truly a broomstick flight. I am appreciating your insight.
